I have finally finished the little girl’s room and it looks fantastic! Going off the inspiration pictures, the color concept is a raspberry pink and bright green. Below are a few renderings and you can follow the links that show the space plan, materials and furnishings used. This space is great because it allows flexibility for the girl and her parents. I used fun feminine fabrics with classical furnishings to allow for the space to grow with the girl. Universal design principles were used in the furniture and the book shelving to allow people of all ages to function in the space. One of my favorite aspects, as I stated earlier, is the geometric carpet design. The canopy is fit for a princess but easily removable when the client sees fit. Tufted walls add visual interest, safety and adds a softness to the room. The space can move from play to studying as the years go one with lots of space of flexibility and two twin beds means room for more. I think the client will love this design solution and I hope you do too! Let me know what you think and please share any design elements that you like or have done for a child’s room.
